Hopefully a few will, and maybe pass it along. I’ve gotten more personal notes and emails on this one than anything I’ve written in quite a while. Including one from someone who said his thinking had already shifted, but only recently.
Too many people are afraid of saying anything. Many for good reason.
Thank you, Brian, for writing this. Every single person in the United States needs to read this. You captured the absolute absurdity going on right now and it's incredibly hard to believe it's all happening.
Really insightful. Have you seen the monkeys and bananas meme? One monkey is hoarding every single banana while the others get nothing. If we saw an animal hoarding all the resources, we'd immediately recognise it as a dysfunctional monkey. I often wonder why, as humans, we accept a system where a few people get to hoard mountains of wealth while so many struggle.
More OpEds, please. This isn't a new situation...it has been lurking quietly for about three years now....but the dire is being stoked and people are becoming more aware as they become impacted. A couple bucks here, a policy inrease there. Our currency is being debased and we are still measuring and collecting 'data' in archaic ways. #StableLiving and #TinyGiants, not 'affordable' housing and UBI. This is triage, not sustainability.
Agreed. I also have agency....therefore I do as well. We need to amplify the voices and highlight the solutions. There are so many solutions. And they're not coming from our institutions or taditionally defined 'leaders.' LFG
Well stated Brian... these are challenging times indeed. Our leadership, both public and private, are focused on the wrong things. Incentives are misaligned. It makes you wonder who is REALLY in control of our economy. I will be sharing this far and wide.
Beautifully and thoughtfully put Brian…these tech ‘gods’ are not going to fix this. They’re a big part of the problem, or at the very least, unwilling to do anything about it. “It’s complex”…WTAF?
Unfortunately, those that will read this and react are not the ones who need to woken up. But what we can do is continuing to advocate for change.

Fantastic analogy! I’ll definitely remember that visual.

I think May are also scared to speak publicly about what they will say privately. It’s easier for me, so I should do it more often.

Thank you Chris!
Well said Brian. Appreciate you writing this
Thank you Al!
